A pamphlet published in 1857, containing responses by Nathaniel Halderman and Henry Shimer to allegations by Calvin Gray that the Mount Carroll Seminary had been turned into a sectarian Baptist institution. Halderman responds chiefly to the accusations against the Seminary, and Shimer to Gray's aspersions on the Baptist faith. The Mount Carroll Seminary later became Shimer College, the Great Books college of Chicago.
